Sotra Link AS has entered into a PPP contract with the Norwegian Public Roads Administration to finance and implement the project.Sotra Link AS is owned by Ibsen Investment Holdings (managed by Macquarie), Webuild and SK ecoplant.Sotra Link AS has outsourced the work in the contract to two main contractors. The company Sotra Link Construction JV ANS is designing and building the road. Intertoll Norge AS is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the road once it is completed.
Sotra Link Construction JV ANS consists of the construction companies Webuild, FCC Construcción and SK ecoplant.
FPT Fluid Power Technology thanks to the collaboration with our local dealer Hytorc Norge AS supplied different FPT equipment, high tonnage cylinders and a split flow hydraulic pump to carry on the hydraulic operation in the Sotra Link project. The split flow pump allow lifting with an unbalanced load and ensure that the load is evenly distributed between the lifting points. The main feature is a piston pump with independent delivery, ideal for carrying out lifting operations where a high leveling precision of the load is required.
Thanks to Sotra Link travel time will be significantly shorter, especially during rush hour, and will be a major improvement for road users and public transport between Øygarden municipality and Bergen municipality.Sotra and Bergen are important areas for national value creation, with a number of oil and gas facilities, maritime activity and aquaculture.
The new road will lay a good foundation for further development and growth in the region.
