We are proud to announce the successful completion of a highly challenging lift and move operation involving two massive power transformers. The project required the safe removal of an existing transformer weighing over 200 tons and its precise replacement with a new unit exceeding 160 tons. Thanks to careful planning, advanced technology, and strong collaboration, the operation was completed smoothly, safely, and on schedule.
The key to the success of this synchronous and delicate maneuver was the exceptional precision provided by FPT – Fluid Power Technology solutions. The lifting system was based on 100-ton Double Acting Hydraulic Cylinders, expertly managed by an FPT Split Flow Pump. This advanced configuration allowed for absolute control of the lifting process, ensuring perfectly synchronized movements at every stage of the operation. The Split Flow power units allow to perform synchronous lifting and lowering operations of irregular and unbalanced loads obtaining ± 3% accuracy on the nominal stroke when lifting during lifting and lowering with double-acting cylinders.
Handling loads of this magnitude requires more than raw power—it demands accuracy, reliability, and total control. The FPT system enabled step-by-step lifting and lowering, minimizing stress on the structure and ensuring maximum safety for both equipment and personnel. Every movement was carefully monitored and adjusted, allowing the team to manage the operation with confidence, even under the most demanding conditions.
This project once again demonstrates how the right combination of engineering expertise and high-performance hydraulic technology can make the difference in critical industrial applications. Precision synchronization, robustness, and reliability were essential factors in achieving a successful outcome.
