To lift and move a transformer, FPT developed a special system for performing these maneuvers. The hydraulic system designed for these operations consisted of the following:
4 compact, double-acting special cylinders rated at 50 tons with a 100 mm stroke, equipped with 16 C-blocks to extend the cylinder stroke and enable step-by-step lifting
1 three-phase hydraulic power unit with independent outputs that maintains constant flow even as the load varies.
2 special CDE17/400 hydraulic cylinders—17-ton capacity with a 400 mm stroke—for translation
4 compact cylinders, model FPT CRM50/50C, controlled by various PDSA21 two-stage lever pumps for leveling the structure.
Thanks to the FPT equipment, the transformer was lifted and subsequently moved to perform the scheduled maintenance operations.
